Minimum protection is as follows:
Timber Joinery is a premium product that requires a level of protection to enhance
its properties.
⦁ To prevent the extremely unlikely chance of a crack, please do not lean or
position objects (internal or external) against glass.
⦁ It is imperative that all joinery, including hardware penetrations, to be sealed
on all six faces before installation.
⦁ All joinery must be installed by a certified builder in accordance with the New
Zealand Building Code.
⦁ Professional painters must sand and prepare timber joinery before painting or
staining; keep in mind that sanding might cause a change in timber thickness.
⦁ Primers and undercoats, as well as external putty, should be oil-based. The
recommended procedure for applying paint is four coats or follow the
manufacturer’s instructions. It is necessary to seal and topcoat the bottom and
top sashes as well as the doors, with four paint techniques being advised.
⦁ The usual qualities of wood include natural variations in colour, textures, and
modest changes in size due to seasonal dampness. These variations are not
measured as faults.
⦁ Excessive heating can cause shrinking, this IS NOT included in the DTDW’s
coverage.
⦁ Warranty is invalid with dark colours. Painting to go a minimum 2mm up the
glass to seal putty for single glazing.
⦁ The black strip should NOT be painted over in a double-glazed unit.
⦁ Extra fees will be incurred when the product is asked to be identical or
comparable to another (like for like).
⦁ Prices are firm for 30 days from the quotation date and are based upon
information received to date.
Please note all timber joinery must be correctly installed as outlined by the Building
Code. If you choose to ignore these recommendations, the warranty is void.
